Her work centers on theme-based units that integrate literature and history, emphasize primary sources, and connect classroom learning to the wider world. She has served as a department chair, consistently exceeded growth measures, and was named a WCPSS Teacher of the Year semi-finalist.
As a Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms participant, Shannon is expanding this work through international exchange and cultural learning in India, bringing global perspectives back to her classroom and professional practice. She believes deeply in the transformative power of education and is honored to help shape thoughtful, confident, and globally minded leaders.
